Landscape Value Roscoea are exotic cousins to the Ginger, native to the Himalayas. This selection bears short spikes of orchid-like flowers in a soft creamy yellow to ivory-white shade, against a low mound of green sword-shaped leaves. Plants dislike hot, humid summer climates. Performs best in a cool, moist woodland setting. Clumps may be divided after several years, best accomplished in early spring. Although surprisingly hardy, in cold winter regions these may be wintered in pots indoors. |
